Mississippi State University, College of Veterinary Medicine- 2024 Dr. Ella Swales was raised in Acworth, Georgia, where she grew up three-day eventing and was heavily involved in pony club. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Kennesaw State University in 2020. She received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University in 2024. During veterinary school, she was president of her school’s student chapter of the AAEP and vice president of surgery club. Dr. Swales’ professional interests include soft tissue surgery, orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, lameness, and education. She hopes to pursue a surgical residency in the future.  Dr. Swales is currently living in Arcadia, OK with her thoroughbred Auggie, and dogs Ollie, Archie, and Theo. When not in the hospital, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé, family, and friends, as well as riding her horse, gardening, and cooking.
