Dr. Jeff Brakenhoff comes from an agricultural background and is originally from Nebraska. He completed his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2003 from Kansas State University. After graduating from veterinary school, Dr. B. teamed up with Dr. Hague and Dr. Major to work at Oakridge as part of the original internship program.
Later he attended Michigan State University where he completed his large animal surgery residency in 2007. That is also where he met his wife Katie, who was completing her veterinary technician bachelor’s degree program. On special occasions, he teams up with his wife to work with small animals. Dr. Brakenhoff enjoys spending his free-time with his wife and their two young children. He is an avid sports fan, particularly when it comes to Husker football. Go Big Red!
Dr. B. is a board-certified equine surgeon who you are most likely to meet at an emergency visit, but is also available for daytime appointments. His professional interests include fracture repair, upper airway disease, and colic.
